Word has it in the schoolyard that you draw all day long, Nick! Your skills have improved steadily during the past 8 weeks, and your own unique style of is emerging in your drawings. Although drawing realistically in our lessons has influenced your style, you're most focused when pursuing a blend of realism and abstract compositions. As you were drawing the dolphin vertebrae and starfish you explored some really cool line/abstract designs. Let's explore this more in upcoming weeks. Your final drawing challenge for this quarter: Create a composition by drawing from observation (looking at things and then drawing them), memory (remembering a person, place, or thing), feeling (how you feel at this moment), or your imagination. You can focus on one kind of drawing or mix one or more together. Include what you've learned so far: lines, shapes, patterns, textures, form, shading, contours, etc. Use the whole paper for your composition. Enjoy!
